There were some great creatures in this book straight from the Fae. What probably isn’t that slow of a book just feels slow. That also means that the book I’m currently reading is suffering because of Butcher. And it’s why I sometimes say one of Butcher’s books is slower compared to his others. It! Books like this make everything else seem soooooooo slow, though. I couldn’t find a spot to put it down because the amount of fighting in this book is just insane. It was tense and even threw a punch to the gut toward the end. This book was one of the warp speed ones.

I’ve found that Butcher’s books range from fast paced to warp speed. Again, my reviews of Butcher’s books will be short and sweet as I can’t say much without giving away spoilers. Harry’s got himself in a pickle this time! We’ve got Summer and Winter, some old foes, and a heck of cast taking up the pages of this installment. Holy crap! This book was frikkin’ insane! Mab, monarch of the Sidhe Winter Court, calls in an old favor from Harry, one small favor that will trap him between a nightmarish foe and an equally deadly ally, and that will strain his skills, and loyalties to their very limits. THE New York Times Bestseller Harry Dresden’s life finally seems to be calming down until a shadow from the past returns. “What would you get if you crossed Spenser with Merlin? Probably you would come up with someone very like Harry Dresden, wizard, tough guy and star of.

Longtime series fans as well as newcomers drawn by the SciFi Channel’s TV series based on the novels should find this supernatural mystery a real winner.”- Library Journal

“A tricky plot complete with against-the-clock pacing, firefights, explosions, and plenty of magic. “What’s not to like about this series?.It takes the best elements of urban fantasy, mixes it with some good old-fashioned noir mystery, tosses in a dash of romance and a lot of high-octane action, shakes, stirs, and serves.”- SF Site The supporting cast is again fantastic, and Harry’s wit continues to fly in the face of a peril-fraught plot.”- Booklist (starred review) “Butcher.spins an excellent noirish detective yarn in a well-crafted, supernaturally-charged setting. “One of the most enjoyable marriages of the fantasy and mystery genres on the shelves.”- Cinescape “Superlative.”- Publishers Weekly (starred review) Hamilton and Tanya Huff will love this series.”- Midwest Book Review “Think Buffy the Vampire Slayer starring Philip Marlowe.”- Entertainment Weekly
